1) Sandboxing

Cause:

A site is new or has never built links before.

Effect:

Google will not allow a site to rank in its top 100 results for any competitive keyword until the site has built some links and at least two months have passed from the start to the link building.

Solution:

Concentrate on Building links.

2) Penalty

Cause:

building too many unnatural looking links at once or dropping a substantial percentage of your links at one time.

Effect:

Google moves your website off the first page for one or more of your main keywords, often to the top of the second page or may be to third or fourth page.

Solution:

remove the offending situation if any. At first Google will intentionally not inform about the penalty, suspecting about any illegal act from your side. Following the natural way of link building will make you again the topper in few months.

3) De-indexing

Cause:

your site contains links to some bad sites like gambling, pills or adult content website or if your website is engaged in offensive SEO tricks.

Effect:

your site does not appear for any search results, even if you enter your domain name into Google. You might be notified by Google on your Google webmaster Tools control panel.

Solution:

you have to fill form for reconsideration of your site in Google webmaster tools, giving a good reason such as your site having been hacked or you are a hapless victim of a web marketing firm, this will result in reinstatement.

4) Blacklisting

Cause:

your site has engaged in black hat SEO tactics such as cloaking, doorway pages etc.

Effect:

It has same effects like those of de-indexing; your site will not be visible for any search results any you will be notified by Google on Google webmaster tools control panel.

Solution:

for this problem it is best to buy a new domain name and disassociate with the offending practices.
